Verify Google Apps Domain Name

There are 3 methods you can use to verify your website. They are as follows:

(1) Verification: DNS TXT record

Get Unique Verification Record

1. Firstly, log into Google Admin Console account.
2. Open setup tool and click Verify.
3. Then, click Continue to verify domain with TXT record. If you want to use another method, click on Switch verification method.
4. Click Copy to copy the verification code.

Go to Domain’s DNS Records

1. Firstly, log into domain host account in new browser windows or tab.
2. Secondly, go to DNS records.
3. Then, select the option to add a new DNS record.

Add Verification Record

1. Firstly, select TXT for the record type.
2. Next, enter “@” or leave it blank in the Name/Host/Alias field.
3. After that, enter 86400 or leave it default in Time to Live (TTL) field.
4. Paste the unique verification code in the Value/Answer/Destination field.
5. Lastly, Save the record.

Verify in Google Admin Console

1. Firstly, navigate to Google Admin Console > Setup Tool.
2. Click Verify.
3. Lastly, click Continue and then Verify my domain.

(2) Verification: HTML file

Get Unique Verification Record

1. Firstly, log into Google Admin Console account.
2. Click the buttons at the top of the dashboard to set up G Suite account and verify your domain.
3. On Verify your domain page, click on Choose a different method and select Upload HTML file.

Upload HTML File

1. If you’re not sure how to upload files to your server, kindly contact your web host’s technical support or your webmaster.
2. Click Download to download HTML verification file in the instructions appeared.
Note: Do not rename the HTML file to avoid any problem.
3. Then, upload the HTML file to web server’s root folder (usually public_html or wwwroot).
Note: Do not upload the HTML file to a subfolder.

Check Uploaded File

1. Firstly, open a new browser window or tab.
2. Secondly, go to the address where you uploaded the file. Remember to use the names of your actual domain and HTML file.
3. You will see google-site-verification: followed by the code in your HTML filename if the file is uploaded correctly.

Complete the Verification

1. Firstly, return to setup tool in Admin Console.
2. Then, click Verify domain and set up email or Verify.

(3) Verification: Meta tag

Get Unique Verification Record

1. Firstly, log into Google Admin Console account.
2. Secondly, click on the buttons to set up G Suite account and verify your domain at the top of the dashboard.
3. On Verify your domain page, click on Choose a different method and then select Add <meta> tag.
4. Click Copy to copy the verification code.

Add Meta Tag To Domain Homepage

1. Firstly, Open your website homepage.
2. Next, paste the meta tag into <head> section and before first <body> section.
3. Lastly, Save the changes.

Check Added Meta Tag

1. Open a new browser window or tab and go to your website’s homepage.
2. Right-click anywhere and choose the appropriate menu item (may be called View page sourceView SourceView HTML) to view the HTML source of your homepage.
3. Check the <head> section to confirm your meta tag is here.

Complete the Verification

1. Firstly, return to setup tool in Admin Console.
2. Then, click Verify domain and set up email or Verify.
