Questions about renting a Mac mini M5 Pro in cloud
What does it mean to rent a Mac mini M5 Pro in cloud at Casbay?
You rent a physical Mac mini with an Apple M5 Pro chip that only you use, installed in Casbay's data center in Malaysia. It is real hardware, not a virtual machine, and you manage it remotely with full admin rights.
Which Mac mini M5 Pro models can I rent?
There are two: a 15-core CPU / 16-core GPU model and an 18-core CPU / 20-core GPU model. Both have a 16-core Neural Engine, 24GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage.
How much does it cost to rent a Mac mini M5 Pro?
Prices are in USD per month and fall as the term gets longer. The 15-core model costs $459 per month on a 3-month term, $429 on a 6-month term and $399 on a 12-month term. The 18-core model is offered on a 12-month term at $599 per month, and you order it through Casbay's contact page. Prices are the same for static and dynamic IP.
What is the difference between a static IP and a residential dynamic IP?
A static IP is a single fixed address that stays with your machine for the whole rental. A residential dynamic IP comes from home-style address ranges and can change over time.
Which IP type should I choose?
Pick static if other systems need to recognise your Mac by a stable address, for example CI/CD runners, firewall allowlists, DNS or code signing. Pick residential dynamic for geo-testing, rotating exit points or traffic that should resemble an ordinary home connection.
How do I connect to my Mac mini?
Every plan supports root SSH for the command line, plus DeskIn and Apple Remote Desktop for a full macOS desktop session. Casbay sends your connection details once the machine is ready.
Do I get admin access?
Yes. You get root SSH and full administrator rights, so you can install software and change system settings freely.
Do you offer refunds?
No. All Mac mini M5 Pro rentals are non-refundable. Payments are not returned once an order is placed, including if you cancel or stop using the server before your term ends. Please choose your model, term and IP type carefully, and contact the Casbay team if you have questions before you order.
What can I run on a Mac mini M5 Pro?
Xcode builds, signing and notarization, CI/CD runners, app and UI testing, local AI and machine learning work, and a remote macOS desktop for people who do not own a Mac.
