See the next section for steps for the Internet Mail installation.<\/p><p>Remove the Personal Folder from your mail profile and add a new one by following these steps:<\/p><p>\u2013 Click <strong>Start<\/strong>, point to <strong>Settings<\/strong>, and then click <strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.<br \/>\u2013 Double-click the <strong>Mail and Fax<\/strong> icon.<br \/>\u2013 Select the <strong>Personal Folder<\/strong>, and then click <strong>Remove<\/strong> and <strong>Yes<\/strong>.<br \/>\u2013 <strong>Add<\/strong>. Select Personal Folders and click <strong>OK<\/strong>. Type a name for the folder and then click <strong>Open<\/strong>, <strong>OK<\/strong>, and <strong>OK<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: All mail messages, contacts, tasks, journal entries, appointments, and so forth will remain in your old Personal Folder (pst). If you import information from your old pst to the new pst, damaged information may also be imported.<br \/><br \/><\/p><p><strong>A Damaged Personal Folder in the Internet Mail Installation<br \/><\/strong><br \/><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: The following steps apply if you use the Internet Mail installation. Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<br \/>\u2013 Enter the information as requested for the mail transport you are installing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e8c47d0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e8c47d0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">You Upgraded Your MSN Mail From Classic to POP3\/SMTP<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-574abd6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"574abd6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Change the e-mail type from MSN (or MSNINET) to SMTP by following these steps:<br \/><br \/>\u2013 Open a contact, right-click the E-mail address and on the shortcut menu click <strong>Properties<\/strong>.<br \/>\u2013 Click the <strong>Address<\/strong> tab and next to E-mail Type, type <strong>SMTP<\/strong>.<br \/>\u2013 Click <strong>Save<\/strong> and <strong>Close<\/strong> to close the contact.<br \/><br \/>An e-mail type of MSN and MSNINET will not be recognized as a valid e-mail type with the Internet mail transport. This is particularly true for older mail server systems.
