CHANGING A WORDPRESS ACCOUNT USERNAME<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After you create a WordPress login account, you may want to change the username. However, you cannot do this from the WordPress administration screen. Instead, you can use phpMyAdmin to change the username manually in the WordPress MySQL database.<\/p>

To do this, follow these steps:<\/p>

  1. Firstly, log in to cPanel.

    <\/li>
  2. In the\u00a0Databases<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0section of the cPanel home screen, click\u00a0phpMyAdmin<\/span><\/strong>.

  3. In the left-hand pane of phpMyAdmin, click the WordPress database. A list of tables in the database appears.

    <\/li>
  4. Then, click the wp_users<\/em>\u00a0table.

    <\/li>
  5. In the\u00a0user_login<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0column, locate the username that you want to change.

    <\/li>
  6. Double-click the username, type the new username, and then press Enter<\/strong>.

    <\/li>
  7. After that, log in to WordPress using the new username. (Your password remains unchanged)

  8. Under\u00a0Dashboard<\/span><\/strong>, click\u00a0Users<\/span><\/strong>, and then click\u00a0Your Profile<\/span><\/strong>.

    <\/li>
  9. Under\u00a0Name<\/span><\/strong>, update the\u00a0First Name<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0Last Name<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0Nickname<\/span><\/strong>, and\u00a0Display name publicly as<\/strong><\/span> options for the account. You can also change the user password on this page.
