SuiteCRM is a popular open source CRM application derived from SugarCRM and comes with some additional features and bug fixes. This guide explains the process of upgrade SugarCRM to SuiteCRM.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Assumptions And Upgrade Prerequisites<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThis guide assumes that:\n

  • You are running SugarCRM 6.x. If you are using an older version, you must first upgrade to SugarCRM 6.x. Kindly refer to the SugarCRM documentation<\/a> of your version for detailed upgrade instructions.<\/li>

  • You have created a backup of the application database and files before the upgrade process.<\/li>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Step 1: Configure PHP Settings<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    1. Log in to the server console using SSH.<\/li>\n
      \n \t
    2. Edit the \/opt\/casbay\/php\/etc\/php.ini<\/i> file and modify some key PHP variables with this:<\/li>\n
      \nmax_execution_time=6000
      \npost_max_size=80M
      \nupload_max_filesize=80M
      \nmax_input_time=6000
      \nmemory_limit=256M<\/code>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t**IMPORTANT:<\/b> Remember the original values so you can restore them after the upgrade process is complete.

      1. Restart the Apache server:<\/li>
        sudo \/opt\/casbay\/ctlscript.sh restart apache<\/code>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        \n\t\t\t

        Step 2: Download & Install the Upgrade Package<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
          \n
        1. Download the \u201cSugarCE Migration 6.x to Suite 7.6.6\u201d<\/b> migration package from the SuiteCRM upgrade page<\/a> to your local system.<\/li>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"Upgrade\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
            \n
          1. Log in to the SugarCRM administration console and browse to the \u201cAdmin -> Upgrade Wizard\u201d<\/b> page.<\/li>
            \n
          2. On the \u201cWelcome\u201d<\/b> page, click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b> to perform a system check.<\/li>
            \n
          3. Confirm that the system check is fine and click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b>.<\/li>
            \n
          4. On the \u201cUpload Upgrade Package\u201d<\/b> page, select the \u201cSugarCE Migration 6.x to Suite 7.6.6\u201d<\/b> file downloaded earlier and click the \u201cUpload Package\u201d<\/b> button.
            \n**The upload may take a few minutes to complete.<\/li>
            \n
          5. Once the package has been uploaded, click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b> to proceed.<\/li>
            \n
          6. Once you receive confirmation that all pre-flight tests have passed, click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b> to begin the upgrade process.<\/li>
            \n
          7. Wait until all files are copied and you see a success notification. Click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b> to confirm layouts and finalize the upgrade.<\/li>\n**IMPORTANT:<\/b>As the upgrade is finalized, you may see a \u201cGateway Timeout\u201d<\/b> error. This is a transient error that can safely be ignored. Wait a few minutes and reload the application welcome page again.<\/li>

          8. Your upgrade should now be completed and you should see the SuiteCRM dashboard. <\/li>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

            \n\t\t\t

            Step 3: Restore Previous PHP Settings<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
            \n\t\t\t\t
            \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
              \n
            1. Edit the \/opt\/casbay\/php\/etc\/php.ini <\/i>file and restore the values of the PHP variables modified earlier.<\/li>
              \n
            2. Restart the Apache server:\n
